Same veggies/rice/meat as before, but here is what I did extra and it worked out perfectly. I got a bj from the gf for this meal btw, so if you have a female friend around whip this out

Here is meat recipe:

http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes...y_ginger_beef/

This was for 1.25 lbs of meat... adjust accordingly (I had 2.5 lbs so I doubled recipe)

I marinaded for 30 minutes and that was plenty.

I missed that, it actually does look like it. if you pat the beef dry with paper towel after its marinaded and sear the **** out of it on high heat with oil the pan won't have a shred of liquid in it, makes it nice and crispy

and I love crispy beef... apparently the females do too

Two homemade chicken and rice bowls and a burger. I'm wayyyy behind on my eating today! Let's hope my front squats don't suffer from being under calories.

I can't believe you bench more than you squat. You'll be up there soon

No, I bench more than I FRONT squat. Keep in mind that I've only been front squatting since October (..and I started at a mere 135 lbs.). I don't think my front squat will ever reach the level of my bench. I don't know many people who front squat ridiculously heavy weight, and I'm definitely the only guy in my gym nearing the 300 mark on the FS, and at the 405+ mark on the BS. If I make it to 315 I'll be a happy camper, especially considering that I'm LOSING weight (..while simultaneously getting stronger). I suppose that my front squat won't get much higher than 315 lbs., but I could be wrong.

What's wrong with a turkey sandwich?

Yeah we will. LOL! I think you guys get caught up in the paralysis of analysis. Too much time analyzing every single detail about what you eat, how many reps, .....etc. Just eat and lift! Adjust as you go and keep pushing. I think the issue with over-analysis is what keeps many people from making significant gains (..especially for you smaller guys trying to get bigger/stronger). If you haven't noticed, all of the bigger guys on the forum eat......and they eat......and they eat some more........and they lift......and they lift.......and they lift some more........and they don't give a sh|t about calories, etc.

P.S. Why assume processed turkey? It could have been fresh sliced turkey from the deli.

P.P.S. I had some processed goodness today along with a 3-scoop sundae from Baskin Robbins. I'm about to f@ck sh|t up in the gym today. It's dead lift/bench press/pull-up/auxilary work day!

I think the "health" portion of this forum isn't discussed as much as it should be. You can put on muscle / fat eating whatever you want and working out, but where does that leave you from a health standpoint? Fiber doesn't do much for muscle building, but it is very important from a health standpoint etc, same with micronutrients like vitamins and antioxidants. You often hear of bodybuilders developing diseases from a poor diet, yet they are shredded.

So when I say stuff isn't "healthy" I'm not just referring to its ability to create muscle and stave off fat, I'm referring to its ability to make you a healthier individual.

That being said... Where are the nutrients in a turkey sandwich? Most will make it with processed deli meat (not fresh) and white/whole wheat bread, with maybe some iceberg lettuce, mayo, and maybe a slice of tomato. Sure it can be made healthy, but most people making sandwiches don't do that. It's mostly empty calories that aren't doing you much good. In this case it could very well be a "healthy" choice if made correctly.

That's pretty much what I'm getting at when I claim something to be healthy or not, since I have a very keen interest in health & diet beyond the fitness world!

This isn't directed at you in particular, you just probed it out

Edit: I crushed a large thin crust pizza last night after a heavy back workout, because I realize that eating incredibly clean will hurt me from achieving my current short term (bulking) goals. Depends on what you are looking to achieve

Ok the sammich was 98% fat free turkey, gluten free, whole wheat, romaine lettuce, tomato and a slice of Swiss with just mustard. Better description?

Dinner: sirloin steak, cut away the fat, and steamed veggies. Water for hydration.
