That looks like a great one for the price, mileage, year, and warranty. The other ones I looked at seem to be lacking in at least one of these areas.

I saw another one in NC that is very close to this one (in pretty much every aspect). The goal is to pick it up for $100k or less.

I wish I could afford to make this decision.

I agree. You can pick up GT3 RS's for around 100k...

The last time I saw a GTR at the track, it went home on a rollback with a baked transmission.

I dislike rear engine'd cars. (And that's putting it softly. Come at me bros.)

I'd take the GTR, hands down.

FWIW I work at a Nissan dealership and I've only seen 1 GTR with transmission problems. It's usually the flywheel housing bearing, which is essentially the throwout bearing, which can physically break if people let them get bad enough.

I would get the GT3 though because of the 6sp transmission. GTR is one of my favorite cars to drive, but the fact that they don't offer it in a manual makes me sick.

our e46's have better interiors than gtr's...

You only heard one gtr with that problem? Damn I can name over 10 in the tri state lol.

Nissan put out a notice for it. So it's a free fix, just a sad 2-5 days without the car though

I like the GT-R a lot, but a Porsche is my dream car.

So is that the weak link in the GTR? Does it break after Nissan fixes it?

Not at all, it's just a fault in the car. Nissan took notice and will do the fix for free. I heard no one complain afterwards. Of course the new 12/13 models took care of the problem.

A Sidenote: the gtr always sounds like its about to break, so much rattle and nonsense. I'm talking of behalf of every gtr owner, even when it switches gear it's a bunch of noises and "clunk"
