BMW 330Ci Turbo - 500rwhp and 640rwnm - Vids page 5

Hi, Some of you may have seen my thread about my NA engine build in the Motosport section here on e46fanatics.

Changed plans resulted in:

* SPA Exhaust manifold
* Precision SC6262 Billet Turbo
* Presision 44mm Wastegate
* 3" Steinless exhaust with 2 SIMONS silencers
* PPF 50mm BOV
* 450X300x75 Intercooler
* BMC Airfilter

* Link G4 EMS
* Audi ignition coils
* Siemens DEKA 895cc injectors
* Bosch 044 fuelpump mounted in the tank.
* Aeromotive AN6 regulator
* Modified fuelrail

* Clutchmaster 2-disc clutch with their flywheel. (From Adam's dragrace car)

I'm sure I forgot something but all these parts are bolted onto the stock engine.

The goal is to dyno ~450rwhp on Ethanol and stock engine.

PPF have theif 400rwhp "safe" kit for stock M50B25's, So I hope the M54B30 should last for a while with +50rwhp.

Hopefully it will be tuned and dynoed at PPF within 2 weeks. Pictures will come by the end of this week..

No no... Only the exhaust manifold. This is not a kit, it's all put together from scratch with products and brands that PPF carries... http://www.pure-pf.com

Nice! So is the motor still built, or is a stock engine?

Jimmy, welcome to the FI section... it'll be so much easier for me to keep up with what you're doing now, you're in the real subforum.

Can't wait to see it running.

I can't explain how jealous i am of your ethanol

Those new Link systems are supposed to be pretty good. I had an older Link Standalone on my e36 in the past. PPF always loved using Autronic but I believe that the new G4 Link is so good they are now going with that instead?

As long as you have the right standalone and the right tuner who knows how to properly wire the engine harness and tune it, then you can turbo anything. Good for you!

Oh, those injectors are a little big for that turbo. You should be going with the Precision pt71 billet dbb and then you could make 850whp!

Thanks. So you dont have ethanol in the states yet? It's like cheap race gas at the gas stations over here in Sweden.

I'd say the injector size is perfect for 500rwhp. Ethanol requies injector sizes that are about 30% bigger than pump gas.

PPF has left Autronic and are now mostly using ViPec, Which is 99% the same EMS as Link.

Can't wait to see how this goes

Hur har du planerat med ECU- delen av bygget , kommer det vara blandat mellan bmw och eftermarknad , eller kommer du bygga nått helt eget ?

Tänkte för ecu'n sköter ju hastighet,antisladd osv....

We can get ethanol in the states. Some states just have it more readily available than others. It's not generally at the pump, but it's easy to come by.

Oh damn I missed that you are using ethanol. Nevermind. All good! I wonder why they stopped using Autronic. I heard ViPec is great.

Are they really all that hot? Damn I should have travelled to Sweden when I could have. I dated a chic who was born in Sweden and her mother had a heavy accent. If her mom had been divorced I'm sure I could have gotten both of them. Both were hot.

Link sprutet är kopplat parallelt med orginal systemet... Allting kommer att fungera som vanligt då orginalsystemet styr VANOS, mätare, antisladd, färddator, etc. Det enda som stör mig är att Check Engine lampan lyser.

Maybe I should translate this becouse I belive more of you will wonder.
Pir4t asked me how things like the antispin, speedometer, dash, ect are going to work with Link/ViPec EMS.

Stock DME is still there, running all these things. Including the VANOS for the moment. Only thing that shows something is different is the Check Engine light...

Thank you , I hope we can get a race together sometime in the future to see just how many minutes(not bothering with seconds..) behind i'll be

As for the check engine light you could always have the LED disabled if it's the light that bothers you.

If it's the reason the LED is on that's bothering you i believe ESS know how to disable the light for vanos/timing/other reasons.

Finally, It's alive.

Took the car to PPF today and we finished the exhaust and also the wireing that was remaining.

I had a gas leak in the fuelrail from welding one fitting for the.. hmm.. english.. back to tank line. When that was fixed and another small error was fixed it started just fine. Now I have some small things left to do, and hopefully Andreas have time to dyno and tune it by the end of next week.

Andreas tunes almost all systems... But PPF are specialised on ViPec/Autronic... And they are 2km away from me so I see no reason for choosing something else..

BTW, I used Autronic SM4 on my E34 535 Turbo... But I have to say Link/ViPec seems alot easier installing.

Dyno will be Friday 08.00!

I've done some cruising to see that clutch and everything is working. It sounds pretty cool with 3" SS exhaust and two small dampers. Also I've taken some pictures but forgot the camera at the shop. I get back with pictures and dyno results next weekend.

435 RWHP and 585 NM

This at only 0.95 bar!

Runs really good! Only thing now is traction...! My 225/40/18 doesnt make that much grip until 4th gear!
