My Ride: 2003 BMW 325i
One question: my 2003 325i has the OEM navigation, but the OEM DVD player (that uses the Navi disc) in the trunk is inoperable. Does the Dynavin system just bypass that DVD player completely?

I just do not want to order the Dynavin unit if it will not work because the OEM DVD player is broken.

The 6-disc cd changer in the trunk still works.

Thank you.

V5 USB mode

I have a V5 unit, and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to make it loop only one particular folder while playing in USB mode. I have several albums, each in their own folder, and for some reason, it will play through all the songs, folder by folder, rather than looping just one single album. Any way to change this?

Maybe a stupid question, where does the mini usb from the ibus has to go? Does it has to be connected, didn't see that back in the install manual.

I've got a few questions about my D99 WinCE unit.

1) When using the Windows Music Player, whenever I select reverse the PDC display comes up and I hear the PDC beeping, I then select a forward gear and the unit gets confused about what Media input to play - it will switch to whichever one of the 'Dynavin board' inputs was last selected even though it shows the Windows Player on screen and was playing from this source before reverse was selected - is there a way to fix this or do I just have to make do with the ugly Dynavin USB player?

2) Is there a way to auto-dim the screen at the night or do I just have to hold Mute down for 3 seconds?

3) When the unit is forced off i.e. the key is removed from the ignition it makes an aggressive loud thud noise where the audio cuts out, Is this normal as it doesn't do it when turned off by pressing the left nob?

4) Have there been any other V5 firmware updates other than the 2010 one on the Dynavin forum?

5) Every time I start the car or power up the ignition the Navi clock is always an hour slow of the Dynavin clock even though I changed them to match the last time the unit was powered up?

6) When you guys refer to 'noise' from the speakers, is this a faint background hiss from the tweeters? I have the HK unit and have this 'noise', it doesn't bother me all that much but if it can be ridden by using the LOCs...

7) The steering wheel controls for track forward and track back don't work properly on the WinCE side of the unit? Whenever they're pressed they just mute the audio (doesn't rewind or fast forward it before you suggest this) much in the same way that pressing a button on the WinCE system would, pressing a button doesn't case the music to mute as I've changed the settings as instructed. Any ideas?

Other than these issues so far so good, enjoying the unit!

matt, if you have a D99 you should post your questions on the D99 thread, this is the D90 (older unit) thread.

Thank Jeff! I absolutely love the unit! I must admit I was a bit skeptical after such a large thread. The unit looks beautiful and operates very well!

1 Question as of now... Is there a way to change the OBC information to display Imperial units vs Metric units? AKA Miles vs KM and Gallons vs Liters?

Question: I just installed a Dynavin V5 and every time I start the car, I need to unplug my ipod then replug it in for the Dynavin to recognize it. The Dynavin wont recognize it otherwise. Any solution? Pain in the ass to unplug and plug the ipod in everytime.

Is this normal? If not, is there a solution?

TIA

Are the Dynavin units compatible with BMW Assist? For some reason, I cannot find any information on this when searching the various Dynavin threads.

I have a Dynavin V5 I installed just over a year ago. Are there any updates (software) recently I could install?

Anyone have recommended EQ settings for the D90 in a non-HK audio system? I've had the unit for quite some time, but I've never been able to get it sound quite right. Seems like the audio quality took a huge hit switching from the OEM unit.
