Received my replacement unit last night and installed it. Took care of my Bluetooth issue, thanks Jeff!
BT streaming works great from my palm pre but skips (every 40 seconds) for some reason when streaming from my iPad. However I am able to hook up the iPad directly to the dock cable and utilize it in iPod mode. When in iPod mode with the iPad, steering, touch, and remote functions do not work - you just simply use the iPad. I'll keep you guys posted if I solve the skipping issue via BT iPad. Maybe if I update to IOS4. Not sure if the October firmware update (BMW logo screen) for the dynavin has anything new for the Bluetooth. |

With the touchscreen, it's simply a quick touch. Touch playlist then touch the playlist you want then touch the song to play Here's a video clip: Last edited by ketchup; 12-30-2010 at 08:59 PM. |

yes, if you are just selecting a playlist what ketchup describes is very easy. Touch the screen for selections and use the RT button to go back. you only need to bring up the pop up menu (or use the remote) if you need to page forward...

Just an addendum to the bits I mentioned above. Strongly recommend people give nDrive a go if they can get their hands on it. Looks fairly basic but it's really quick (much higher framerate than iGO), the instructions are clear, and best of all, there's full postcode input - something I've not found on any of the others.
A minimise option would be helpful though, on the off chance someone knows how to add it... |

hey jeff, installed the v5 unit and everything went OK except... that the supplied line output converter does not work for front RH speaker... the speaker stopped outputing all sound. Removed the LOC and the speaker was fine again. Put the LOC back in line to double check and the RHF speaker again stopped working. I opened the LOC up and there was a loose solder joint on the solid grey wire where it connects to the board. are you able to provide a replacement under warranty?
thanks, piers. |

yeah, thats no problem, just send me an email and the address where you would like it mailed so I can set it up.
If you want to save yourself some trouble and get your car back up and running sooner just steal the LOC from the rear speakers and use it on the front, then just use the fader to balance the front to rear sound. The LOCs are really only needed on the front. Then when you get the replacement LOC you can replace it at your leisure. (or not at all)

Guys,
I have A v5 and am running igo primo. I have an issue with the NAV volume. The NAV volume appears to be linked to the radio volume. Works fine if you have the radio up fairly loud. My issue is that I frequently have my wife and kids in the car and have the radio on at pretty low volume so that we can still talk to each other. At that level, the NAV can only barely be heard. I believe that I have the NAV. Volume settings at max but the radio volume control still turns the NAV down when the radio is turned down. Anyway to control the NAV. Volume independent from the radio volume? Thanks for the help. Todd |

Todd, check the primo thread. There's a small section you can add to your sys.txt that boosts the Nav volume.

Has anyone figured out how to automatically power off the ipod when the Dynavin turns off? I am using the video cable with TVout and USB charging through AUX. I was just wondering if there is a workaround or even an app that will power the ipod off when not in use or it loses power from the USB
