<----------- swimming pool expert. Not that any1 cares lol

Is there any plans for the dynavin to have a screen saver or any type of visualization effect to go with music?
I love the unit, but to me all the music interfaces are lame. For example 11yrs ago I had a pioneer unit that had 5 "shows" like dolphins would swim across the screen. Etc

^ This is a good idea.

Swimming dolphins in my car...not so much.

I have a classic that does it about 25% of the time and an iphone that does it almost never and a nano that does it almost every time. The easiest workaround I know of is to press the right side knob to go to bluetooth and then press the "back" button in the lower right." I think hes talking about the E46 version. I just hit the SRC button four times, back to ipod.

Hey guys... thanks for the suggestion but nothing including jumping in and out of ipod mode; plugging and unplugging have solved my TIME OUT[351] error. i am beginning to wonder if it has something to do with how my ipod is named "Dan's Ipod" Dynavin wil not even recognize the ipod is connected and does not display the ipod name, I will try renaming it later today. This really sucks because I don't have another ipod to test it out with.

BTW does anyone have the ipod "pin-out" diagram or the Dynavin ipod plug pin-out diagram?

Anyone know when we can expect a new firmware update for V5?

Anyone flushmout the USB's anywhere other the the euro tray, any other suggestions on USB mount locations? anyone found a clever way to label your USB plugs ie GPS/DVD

Time out[351]

Yes, thanks Jeff I have fully restored and renamed my ipod but still no progress resolving the TIME OUT[351]. I have however made progress for anyone with a general connecting issue; after experimenting a bit I found that the the ipod dock connector supplied with my Dynavin works 99% of the time when I only pushed it into my ipod 3/4 of the way (just before the dock clips engage) allowing me to listen to music only still no SWC. Ipod connection(sound only no/SWC) works only about 5% of the time when dock connector is fully push into the ipod completely engaging the clips. As for the TIME OUT[351] this is still happening when I try to use SWC just after the MUSIC screen when I go to select album/songs/artist>>>

Does anyone have a screenshot of songs list in ipod mode... I have only gotten as far as the "music" screen after that clicking on artist/songs/playlist/album leads to TIME OUT[351], I just want to know that it is possible.

Jeff Can you tell me if this is a universal 5V ipod cable with serial plug? Do you think any of these would work?

Anyone know what these radio functions really mean:

AF touch key
Touch lightly the key for alternative frequency
TA touch key
Touch lightly the key to exit traffic announcement and traffic information program, and with the
help of AF key, to supply auto station search

I thought my radio was going out because it wouldnt find any stations. But I started playing around with the functions and it works fine as long as the above functions are OFF. The explanation in the manual doesnt help much. What is "alt frequency" and "traffic announcement"?

Thx

AF will find the strongest frequency on your radio depending on which region you are in or driving through.
TA will interrupt your radio programme to deliver traffic reports for the region you are in or driving through.
Hope that helps

^^ correct, unfortunately the Dynavin doesn't have the hardware to support the traffic management function so those features are of no use so you should have them turned off otherwise it will automatically keep looking for radio stations every time you turn the unit on.

What about dimming the lights? I have my cluster and others dim but the Dynavin just stands out on full blast.

and are we ever going to see this on the V5?

The button and knob lights will dim but not the screen
Although you can adjust the brightness of the screen with the supplied remote control

I have an e39 version purchased in Nov and the orange external lights dont dim, standard mid installation.

What button are you pressing on the remote to dim the screen? I dont see that anywhere.

Maybe the e39 version is different but the V4 for the E46 buttons dim when you adjust the factory dimmer switch.

I'll check later today which button it is, I actually only found this recently when I was messing around with the remote control and I've had the Dynavin for over 5 months.
