My Ride: X3
Hi Jeff,
I recently installed E83 unit in my 2005 X3. Every thing seems to work well except that there is no audio from the car speakers even on selecting aux(cd changer input) Also there is no audio from aux out cable. Wonder what is wrong
If there is no AUX input in my radio, then the RCA out from dynavin should work should it not?
Regards

Are you talking about the navigation startup?

There is a logo file which the main executable of the nav points to when starting up. I think it was loading.bmp. Look around in your folders.

If you mean the other startup screens, good luck. There is no way to change the "welcome to navigation" screen or the low rider screen.

Edit: The low rider screen might be editable with petrut's patch.

Edit2: Search next time. It's in the igo thread.

If you are referring to the radio startup screen instead of the nav boot screen it is changeable with a radio firmware update. Ask your dealer for the firmware with the BMW logo.

dont worry about that, when you start the car there is voltage drop and then surge in the cars electrical system, the oem amp turns off and then back on when this happens (as do many of the cars electronics. This is often heard as a pop in the audio system. Either dont worry about it (you are not hurting anything) or dont do it!

Just got my V5 installed. Couple questions/problems.

Huge amount if "hiss" when the volume is low, and while watching dvd's.

How do you get the bottom row of buttons to turn off while watching? Why does it switch to the "Caution" screen every 10 seconds?

I gather you haven't tried out any of the onscreen settings to see what they do, might be an idea to familiarize yourself with the available settings.
Tap the arrow icon in the top right hand corner of the screen.

Probably a bad connection where the screen is plugged into the main unit. It needs a repair, contact your dealer.

Hi again all.

After all of the issues I have had with my Dynavin install, I now have another.

I installed mine a month ago and haven't a real good chance to play with the kit, my ebay reverse cam arrived, so I thought I'd take the sunday to sort it all, after some messing about I got the reverse cam to work and then randomly I thought let me wak in a DVD to test...

READ..... NO DISC is all I got, I tried another dvd and again READ... NO DISC, how about that for luck, anyone got any ideas.

Don't tell me the unit is faulty!

Pretty easy repair as in, self repair or as in it must go back to HK.

I found another post from a user who had this issue, they turned the unit upside down and the drive reseated itself and all was well.

I will try that but my luck ain't all that!

Thanx

I just popped out to the car, yea... in the dark, and pulled the stereo out, jiggled it, turned it upside down and I noticed one more thing.

IF I put a disc in then key on the ignition, I get READ then... INVALID KEY, then NO DISC still but whats the INVALID KEY about...
