Does anyone know why the time format on the Nav software keeps reverting to 24 hour military time? I prefer am/pm but it reverts back when the power is switched off.

As m3-4aj says, that is the way the Dynavin was designed.

Remember it is not just Military time, many countries use a 24 hour clock and if you fly anywhere in the world, all times are in 24hr format, eg 21:00 is 9:00pm. Doesn't take long to get used to it.

I don't like dates in mm/dd/yyyy format, as much of the world uses dd/mm/yyyy format but when dealing with the mighty USA ... I have to grin and bear it

time format on the nav side of the unit it has to do with which program you are running.....if you run Primo it will pull time off the satellites and display it in whatever format you want.

hey hey hey now. I'm in the U.S. and I love 24 time. lol But I do agree most people here don't like using it even though most of the world does
same with the dd/mm/yyyy format just a lot easier to understand imo

Thanks but no one has addressed why the time keeps reverting to 24 hour.

I recently installed my Dynavin unit but my Cruise control buttons on the steering wheel stopped working. i am guessing this is not normal as I havent heard any complains about this. All the other buttons work fine and control the unit as they should.

Is there anything I could look into? or do I have a faulty unit?

Yeah... and I keep changing it to am/pm format and then the next time I turn the unit on its back to 24 hour. I would like it to stay am/pm.

are you actually talking about the clock within the nav program or are you talking about the time on the radio screen?

This would be importent to me as well. Seriously considering this unit and would not want to have issues with my cruise control....

Is this also true for my USB/iPhone direct connection?

Also...... has anyone written their own firmware for the Dynavin with open source Android platform to fix some of these issues?

this is the only time in the last year and thousands of dynavin units that I have ever seen anyone mention cruise control. I would guess there is something else wrong with the car or something got unplugged during the install.

No. all other sources continue to play while in nav. Only bluetooth streaming conflicts with nav. It is a hardware limitation that has to do with bluetooths primary purpose being phone functions and it overiding all other activities.

The android units dont really have many issues at this point but there are people working to make the ROM a bit more "car-centric"....

Does this mean I cannot talk on bluetooth while in navi?

No, you can use bluetooth phone while in nav
Bluetooth phone overides everything, so while you're talking on the phone you cannot have access to anything else until you've finished the call.

^^^^not entirely true. you can TALK via bluetooth whilst having the navi MAP of the nav on (i drive with map on, and talk via bluetooth. not sure what happens when you enter a destination and are trying to get directions). you CAN NOT however strem music via bluetooth and have the navi map on.

Note: if using igo 8 you dont have the option for map so this doesnt apply to you. im using igo primo and am referring specifically to that on my windows V5

Are you sure because once you make a call or answer a call it switches to the phone screen and stays there until you end the call, unless it's different with V5.

You can have the map screen on without a destintaion with iGO8, I do it all the time.
Once iGO8 loads you simply tap map in the bottom left hand corner of the screen and it goes to the map screen.

Initial Setup:

I put together a quick video to show what everyone should do when they first get their dynavin, this primarily applies to WinCE units.

1: Turn off keystroke sounds

2: Set file path for Nav .exe program (if needed)

3: Start Nav program and autodetect and configureGPS antenna

4: Set radio menu settings to their optimal settings (in my opinion they should all be off)

5: Access the factory settings menu so set your unit up for your region, Select Aux as the source, hold down 9 on the remote, change Radio Region to the appropriate value and change AMP setting to ON if you car has an OEM amp (all US spec cars do)
