Possibly upgrading my suspension help

I have a 1999 323i (sedan) non-sport suspension setup. I went to the dealership for my subframe inspection and they told me my rear springs were shot and it would be like $700-800 to replace and I have been looking around and noticed that it would be about the same to replace my whole suspension for around that, was thinking about the H&R cup kit but I didn't know if I would have rubbing issues, i use a CSL rep for the summer with 18x8.5 non-stag with general exclaim uhp 225/40-18 I think and i use my stock 16" rim setup for the winter (not sure on tire/rim dimensions). Should i just replace the stock springs or upgrade? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

i have the exact same car as you! With your setup you will never have rubbing issues i would spend the extra 400 and get coilovers. I have the h&r set up street and love it, i had to roll my fenders ever so slightly but i have the coilovers all the way down and have 19'' rims. hope this helps

I have a 330Ci with 18" 8.5 all around also... (except I have 235 tires) the dealership told me my struts were leaking and I knew I had to replace the setup eventually because it would creak and what not over dips and bumps.. so I just went ahead and upgraded my suspension with an H&R cup kit, I'm actually having it installed tomorrow morning so I'll let you know if it rubs or not...

Anyways yeah, I'd say if you're gonna spend money you might as well upgrade and make it better than before.


edit: nvm you don't have a stock sport suspension, but it shouldn't make a difference

good deal, thats exactly what I wanted to hear, was really worried about that...i dunno if I wanna go with street or just the cup kit. Thanks a bunch though!

yea im not sure if i have 235 or 240 but either way yea,i have the same problem i hear that noise when i go over a bump and its my rear coils. You should let me know how the install goes, cost, etc. also if you have to roll your fenders, etc. Keep me posted, thanks!
