$806k per home run is a little overpaid wouldn't you say? but i guess it's okay if you have the money to do it

tex is also one of the best defensive 1st basemen, if not the best...they might be overpaid, but you can't just compared one side of the stats.

You're one of those huh? Why don't you look at how many of those top ten salaried teams are actually in the playoffs. You know there have been more different world series winners than there have been super bowl winners in the past 10 years and football has a cap. It is proven that the "no salary cap" rule does not = good team. If it was all about money than the top 8 spots would all be in the playoffs and that's obviously not the case based on the link YOU provided.

my point is the yankees set these "standards" and its everyone elses job to compete cause if the phillies didn't offer him 25mil. someone else would.. and the same thing is going to happen with puljos... thus why the cardinals exercised his option for only 16 mil so they could have him before they can't afford him anymore.

well if people dont understand the concept that money doesn't buy wins then they're just retarded, or brainwashed (yankees fans )

im thinking if the rangers play the yankees for the alcs it will be the biggest differential in payroll of any teams to play in postseason history....just a thought, someone might have to check that.

that's huge and so important for people like the guy I quoted to know. Look at the marlins teams that won the world series. There were single players on the yankees that had higher payrolls that year lol.

Teams with the highest payrolls make the postseason more often than not, if you don't believe that, you must be a Yankee fan.
