Hacking Factory Bluetooth?

I stumbled upon this video while looking for AUX install videos.

Has anyone done this?

Does it work on US-Spec Cars? My BT box above the nav in the trunk looks different than the one pictured.

Any help?

I dont think i have a BT box in my trunk. I didnt see it when i installed my aux plug. My m3 has a production date of 10 / 01. I wonder if it's possible to install one.

I also didnt have the aux plug behind my nav screen. So i had to splice onto my cd changer in the trunk. The wires on the factory aux cable i bought matched the wires going from the radio unit in the trunk, to the cd changer.
