I'm currently waiting for my intake from Tisher. Does anyone know how that plastic piece comes off the expansion tank(fluid level sign)? Does it slide of sideways or pull straight out? I didn't want to put too much force on the tank.

You can solve that problem by moving to east coast ;-)

Hmmm... this intake does not bring cold air into the enigne via the brake ducts... Nor does it require coding for the engine which should be required when using an intake.

Seems inferior to Dinan IMO

Dinan doesn't require any software changes, and neither does any other intake.

Thx. It came off but man was it stuck! I was afraid I was going to hurt the expansion tank by pulling too hard on top. Did you install your intake yet? Was there a gap like some people have said?

Kinda itching to get that intake. I already ordered the strut bar from Patrick. Dunno if it'd be worth it since I already have a K&N CAI on my car. Something tells me the performance/sound difference is negligible. But the BMW Performance one DOES look a lot better.

That "gap" might be there on purpose for all we know, I doubt BMW would put their name on a product without doing a quality check, but people automatically assume something's wrong if they're not used to it or expecting something, who knows... this might turn into another argument in itself.

I got it because I didn't have an intake, but if you already have one you'll basically just be changing the looks of it and the "wow" factor, it definitely looks amazing coupled with the strut bar but I don't think you would get that sense of change like someone like me who doesn't have one.

I didn't get mine from Pat because I wasn't given "permission" at first from the ole lady, but I got it yesterday and installed it and here is a sad attempt at a sound clip for you all.

Regarding the "gap": I simply took the top portion of the box off and then reinstalled it with that side (containing the "gap") sliding in first and everything seemed to seat just fine.

Pissed was already to do my intake and strut brace this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Then I get a call from the fed ex guy today " is there a unit # for your address we needed to make sure we got the right address yea it's on the adress oh yea he tells me it's right here unit 1" I say ok good drop it off my gf is home. Sorry the driver is done for the day and we don't deliver on Saturdays. Well I'm leaving for a vacation to cozmel Mexico sunday morning so I won't be home so they schedule a delivery on the Monday when I get back. Damitt I wanted to do this. The anticipation is killings me. Well I took a few days off work when I get back so that will give me time to install and play. It sucks living in the keys some times If I lived anywhere else I could have just went to a local fedex and picked it up but it's in Miami over an hour away. So Ill just have to wait. Something to look forward to after vacation.

^ It definately has a noticable "throatier" (is that word?) sound to it. You can hear it, windows up, under WOT for sure. It isn't a wild change but is noticable.
