Does anybody else still have the Carbon Performance Strut Tower brace in stock?

Success! I found an alternate filter to fit the Performance intake.....a Napa Gold 6301. Other than being about 1/8" narrower it's a perfect match. I even pulled my intake apart and test fit it. It takes a little more finessing to get it seated perfectly but once it's screwed down it will work just fine. It comes with a wire mesh layer on it and I think if you wanted to snip off that mesh it would be just as easy to fit as the $55 BMW filter. This one was $9!

I wish now I wouldn't have ordered a spare from BMW with my intake.

In this last pic I didn't have the 4 bottom screws all tightened completely, if I had the 2 top screws would have sat flush. Be careful when tightening these two down so that you don't break those two fragile looking ears off.

Great find, I need to replace my filter soon. I wonder how the airflow thru this compares to the BMW unit. Waiting for some more people to chime in.

about to place my order with bmwpartssource for the intake......any last comments or concerns i should know about this before i get it?

But aren't you showing comparison pics to the stock air filter? Isn't the performance filter curved as in your last shot? Where are comparison pics to that?

^^ Nope all the filters are completely flat when removed. That is an accurate representation of both the filters side by side

That last shot is showing the Napa filter installed in the cage.

Correct, it's not curved until you install it in the cage. I tried cutting the mesh out of the Napa filter today and it wasn't hard to do but you need to be careful so you don't cut the filter itself. I think I'd recommend just leaving the mesh on, it's really not that stiff. It's just easier to form the non-mesh filter into the cage and that cage seems kinda fragile. Be careful not to break any part of it because it looks like it's not available separately.

I'm also looking to order the BMW performance intake for my 01 330ci. Is it compatible with the 01 with no problems.?

Also what's the best place to order these.?

I'd buy two BMW OE filters if the price was right.

I cross referenced this filter with some other part numbers, so these may also work as a replacement:

Mann MA1039

It is the same filter in a '94 Chevy Beretta 3.1 V6, so you can use this car as a reference when searching for the air filter.

I checked out K & N but the filter they have will not work because the filter is folded the long way so it will not wrap around the intake properly.

K&N filter not compatible

Good work. I tried checking all of them and it looks like they will all have the wire mesh on them so it appears there's no getting around that. And just fyi....Napa filters are just a rebranded Wix so there is no need to be leery of using a Napa filter. Wix makes quality filters.

best I can do is two filters for $104. Sorry guys not much wiggle room on this one.

I've been wanting to get one of these for awhile now but the prices in Canada and on eBay seem steep, anyone recommend a good place to buy from
Anyone know if these are better than the afe intakes

Is it worth it to get OEM Performance exhaust ?
