Sorry guys for reviving a old thread, but I thought I should just add that I was able to source myself the performance intake (from one of the sponsors) and the strutbrace from none other than the dealers . Actually a funny story when to the dealers as a joke before importing the brace myself, to my shock the price was not so bad, still more that it would have been to import it myself, but the words the parts guys said next is what made me get it from the dealer: "I can have it for you tomorrow afternoon", so I had it the next afternoon

So I am thinking this setup is pretty unique here where I am from , e46 guys round here don't really spend money on their cars.

Just to actually add a bit of extra info to this thread: Not sure if this how it is on all RHD cars, but on mine the brake booster and DCS pump/system is in the drug bin so the terminal relocation is not as straight forward as portrayed in the instructions, so I ended up having to trim the terminal as well to get it to fit luckily I was able to do it pretty conservatively so you would never even know that it has been hacked up just looking at it

And some pics:

Edit: Just needed to add this as well: The weight, this was the aluminium ACS rep one I had before (in kg):

And the BMW performance one

I ended up paying a lot more than the prices on this thread, but this is some time later of course, intake I got at something like $325 and that did not included shipping (a lot seeing as sout africa is so far away) and import duties and the brace costed me $500, local price worked back to US$ value, would probably have costed about the same if I had to bring it in myself. Shipping to here usually costs the same as the thing you are shipping and then you need to pay import duties as well

How much did you paid for the strutbrace ? I wonder if a dealer here will sell it. I msg the person from the thread on the beginning and they said is discontinued and I really want it

Yes this was the same for me but rather than trimming the terminal, I cut the plastic cover of the terminal as instructed and then flipped the cover the other way around, so that the terminal and cover are now facing inside the "drug bin" with the brake booster.

The cover still makes it look like a factory setup but the lid now slides open and comes straight off instead of flipping open and staying attached at one end.

Hi Joe,

Is this blowout pricing still in effect?

If not, what is your current pricing on these exhausts? I noticed that they're $757.90 on your site:

We no longer have the BMW Performance Strut Bar for the E46 325, we do have our ECS Tuning Carbon Fiber Strut Bar which we currently are offering Free Shipping on.

Here is a custom cart made just for you which contains the BMW Performance Intake for the E46 325 and the ECS Tuning Carbon Fiber Strut Bar.

I don't think so, but you'd probably want to ask a sponsor just to make sure.

I really wanted the intake, I mean REALLY.

But to offer such a nice intake without the option of a lifetime filter kills the deal for me. Now all of you who got this gorgeous intake at such a sweet price are going to end up paying hundreds over the next few years for replacement filters.

I guess I'll just be happy with my AFE and lifetime filter and new filter bag!

It also seems like you can replace the filter with other brands as this links shows

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=807873

"Per K&N the Napa 6301 crosses over to the following:

K&N Part 33-2068
FRAM CA7598
NAPA 6301
PURO A24881
WIX 46301"

But now this is what I have heard in difference between Afe air intake vs oem

"the bmw perf intake was not worth the 300 ish dollars I paid for it. I felt no real difference, except slight sound change under wot. For 300 bucks you get a plastic box, and a filter which sits directly on top ie the top portion of the intake box is replaced, not the bottom portion. You can use the same bottom from the stock set up. It is way over priced and totally not worth it in my opinion."

Yeah, I read that, but someone that says this doesn't really know what they are talking about as there was a lot of research and quality control put into manufacturing the BMW Performance Intake box/filter. So I don't really trust this...I have a UUC TSE3, so I'm not totally worried about the sound increase as I already have that, just want something that was made for my car, to go with my car, to make it run better, and after reading about the short ram-air intake like I have, even though mine has a velocity stack, I am skeptical.
