Need help with hard/stiff rear shocks on '03 325i stock suspension.

The car: 2003 325i sedan with stock suspension.
BEFORE: today everything was fine, car rides perfect, no problems.
AFTER: later in the day I lift up the car(completely off the ground) at my mechanics to change the oil. After all is done with the oil change I put the car back down on the ground and drive it: then I notice that my rear shocks are very hard and provide no "cushion" when going over bumps.
The height of the car did not change at all but both rear shocks are very hard and feel as if the rear suspension was lowered with coilovers.

Can anyone tell me why this happened or what I need to replace?

Thank You

Sounds odd to me. Never heard of this.

While on the ground, craw under with a flashlight and poke around. Check that the springs are seated correctly and not accidently seated screwy on a perch. Also check that the sway bar endlinks are not binding and are free to pivot correctly.

Also, while under there, have a buddy push up and down on the rear of the car as you observe what is going on from under the car.

I have the same problem with a 2001 325i. The rear is very stiff. I looked around but I didn't see anything wrong. I was thinking of getting some bilstein touring shocks to see if it fixes the problem.
