Weigh in on Cooling system kits?
I'm at about 75k on my mileage, so I figure it's time for a cooling system overhaul. I was wondering if I could get some of you to weigh in on these two kits I'm considering. Any feedback is appreciated.
http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E46-325...ing/ES2063865/ http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462 I know a lot of people are pretty die hard fans of OEM only, but it seems like there are equally as many people that have had good experience with other OE spec'd parts, that' just aren't BMW branded. Thoughts? Thanks!

The beauty of the Germans is this. A company (i.e. Behr) can be an OEM supplier and sell to the aftermarket. They take that OEM part, and put it in their own box. For me, I buy 98% of my parts from SSF. I usually have a choice of 4 different brands when it comes to parts (including OEM). Most of everything I get does not come in a BMW box. There are a few things I go for when it comes to OEM or the higher priced equivalent. That's usually, wheel bearings, headlights, corner lights and kidney grills.
The only other thing I would add to that coolant list, would be a radiator. Behr and Nissens are the two most popular brands.

So you think the ECS Tuning kit should be pretty solid? I figure that the stock systems were crap anyways... I don't know how much worse "aftermarket" could be.

You'll be fine. These OEM suppliers sell the same part to BMW. When they sell that part as aftermarket - you'll notice that they will remove BMW's P/N or logo.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Any recommendations on brands that should be "OEM quality", or potential BMW OEM manufacturers that just aren't slapped with a BMW sticker?

The kit from Tischler is great. It comes with everything you need to do the job correctly.
