I'm guessing Martinez or Milton will be the next to die.

I would be doomed (-6.5/-6.75). I'd better stock up on extra glasses.

Could Lasik eye surgery really be that hard to perform? I feel like any one of us could do it to eachother if we just found a machine...

My Ride: has a 3.2L bag now
I thought about how when an economy crumbles, paper money becomes worthless and gold takes over as currency. Since the dawn of civilization gold and jewels have been what determines Kings from peasants. The man with the gold makes the rules, right!?! So now you have all these people that have packed up their worldly possesions and have hit the road. They took everything from canned food, clothing, family pictures and they must have ALL packed their jewelry too! These people should be stock-piling all the gold and jewels they can find. Eventually when things start to become normal and civilizations start to grow again, the man with the gold is going to make the rules. Im surprised that the writers have left this part out of the show....

What do the e46f economists think about this??? lol

i pretty much assume they all stink to high heaven on that show (other than maybe the residents of woodbury). you gotta figure they all have terrible hygiene. like in yesterday's episode, that glen/maggie love scene looked real hot. in real life though, they probably smell like sh1t, have awful breath, and bad skin

No.

Why would anyone care about gold? How does it help your survival?

In a post-apocalyptic world gold is worthless. People trade guns, gasoline, tools, food, water, services, etc. These are the valued items. Who cares about a piece of rock.

Those holding gold thinking it's going to save their ass when the economy collapse or when we hit a major disaster is in for a rude awakening. Gold is only a symbol of value just like money. Its value is non-existent in an unstable world. Instead, materials are the real value.

Rightly so they don't have any gold/jewelry in the show. Those luxury items are just dumb in this setting.

He is saying to stock pile in the event that society turns back to some type of normalcy.

If and when that happens I think the same commodities would still hold value, ie: gold, diamonds, other precious metals/stones.

Yeah you go ahead and stockpile gold/precious metals while a warlord stockpile weapon/gasoline, laughs at you, and take your "treasures" by force.

The world will be a very different place after one of these events. You will not live long enough to see your jewelry hold value again.

Interesting. He's not in the graphic novels, so they can go wherever they want with the character.
