Crank Case Ventilation / Oil Seperator / CCV question regarding small vacuum hose

I recently replaced the CCV system on my car but ran into a quandary with the small vacuum hose port as my original Oil separator/ccv had a plug on it and a small external vent on the unit itself. However, the replacement unit didn't have an external vent and it came with a replacement vacuum hose, which I T-jointed into an existing vacuum system
coming off the intake elbow.

Was this the correct procedure? Or should I just plug the small vacuum port on the new oil separator/ccv in the same manner as the original piece was?

For reference as to the what I'm talking about the small vacuum hose is number 6 in the picture below and the port and the vent were on number 1.

Thanks for any help with this.

Ok thanks, I've plugged the hose that I ran temporarily. Tomorrow I'll just take a few things off the motor and plug it as it at the oil separator.
