Sersiously man. I wish they would just throw up recent photos. I can't imagine how awkward it must be for them to meet up on a date, thinking... "hey, I'm bigger than expected"

i met my gf on match.

There are more success stories than I thought possible. My friend met his wife through e-harmony. She works at Google and probably make as much as my orthodontist friend.

Let me let you in on a little tip. The girls posting the misleading profile photos are 99% of the time looking for a hookup, not a relationship.

This is why you ALWAYS have to make the first date a coffee/drink situation. Easy to make an exit quickly.

I have truly enjoyed reading this thread... I haven't been on a date since 1997! My (now) wife moved in with me then... She's my best friend and the love of my life...

But I really love reading the stories here....

To the guys saying they met their wives/GFs/fk buddies online.. are ya full of it or what?

I've ran into mostly crazies, with about 2 exceptions.

They do say this generation is fuked and meeting people mostly happens online fb/dating sites.

This thread confirms that what has he world come to?

Guys are pusseys and can't man up to talk to girls in person or the Internet just took over dating?

I think the proliferation/success of online dating has to do with how much time we all spend in front of a computer/online, on our smart phones, etc. People are busier and dating online is like shopping online, haha

In other words you can pick and chose bi1ches from your smart phone while taking a shiet...

I just think that even thou there might be a lot of girls and some of them are not fat or ugly , they still seem to me like a bunch of girls that are eighter crazy or there is something wrong with them in particular that they need to sing up to a dating site in order to find a guy.

I can understand this from a Guys point of view but for girls come on they get hit on everyday if they are decent looking.

I've used POF for short while for entertainment but i din't' found a normal girl down to earth girl i always found my self tryn to figure out wtf was wrong with the girl from her profile and pictures lol so I have resumed to old school way of piking up girls / clubs/bars/friends/ i prefer this over the online thing.

PS no pun intended or to tryn to offend anyone just my point of view on this interesting subject.

I wouldn't say POF provides a representative sample of those that are dating online. From everything I've heard, that site is not far from trolling for girls on craigslist. I've actually met really successful, normal girls online--lawyers, doctors, etc. Sure, meeting someone through a friend would be ideal, but it doesn't have to be an either/or situation. That is, online dating can let you meet someone that you may never have met otherwise. As for picking up someone at a bar, yeah, that's great for a hook-up, but I don't necessarily come across those that are GF material.

That's pretty funny

Typing on phone so forgive me. Went out on another date from eharmony. Once again she shows up with a big fat ass. "Houston we have a heffer." to her credit she was smart and had a good personality but she was too big.. Once again - deceptive pictures. Does nothing but waste both our times. Also the band was so loud I could barely hear her but that was my fault. I didn't know that place ever had live music. Waste of time.

Even decent looking girls that get hit on all the time get sick of brushing off the losers and dudes that just aren't their type ITRW.

In a sense, these online dating sites allow them to get "hit on" by a ton of dudes without having to deal with them face to face.

It's also a lot like shopping, and you know how a lot of women are about that.

I think it would be interesting to see the usage differences between women and men on those sites. I wonder if it may be that women browse more profiles than men, but men send msgs to a greater % of the profiles they view.

I know how to talk to them at Bars.. But then you are just finding drunk girls that are not who you want in the long run anyways.

The best place to get them would be at a grocery store or something, but that is just a little too awkward.
