325XI Battery Light
Battery light stays on for a while every time I start the car. Car always starts fine, I replaced the battery anyway. Problem went away for a few days but is now back. It's a 2002 325XI with 120k miles. Anyone think a need a new alternator or should I visit a dealer? Thanks, Shawn

Yep- sounds like alternator. If it comes on after you have been driving for a while, that means impending doom. Or at least it did when mine went out.
You can grab a Bosch reman unit for a couple hundred bucks from most auto part stores. I would go ahead and take a stab at it yourself- not too bad of a DIY, especially if you can change a belt. |
