HI ALL

WELL I'VE DONE A COUPLE THINGS TO MY CAR, SUCH AS THE ONES BELOW/

NOW, I GET THIS FROM A LOT OF PEOPLE:

"IF I WAS YOU I WOULDNT SPEND SO MUCH MONEY ON IT, ITS A WEAK CAR, SALE IT AND BUY YOURSELF AN M3 OR MINIMUM A 325 OR 328I,, THE 323I IS SLOW, AND YOUR CAR LOOKS LIKE A RACE CAR, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO RUNNING A 325I CAN BEAT YOU. STOP PUTTING SO MUCH MONEY ON IT AND BUY SOMETHING FASTER."

I got that from a couple of people that know about cars, and well.. is getting to me... what should i do? i've put maybe 5k - 7k on this car, when i bought it for 6k... so... you tell me, shuold i listen to them or should i keep upgrading my baby!

Return car to stock. Sell car, and mods seperately. Buy 330i.

As you said you have already invested 5-7k into this car. If you're happy with the car, who cares about the haters? 323/325/328/330 all very similar in my opinion. If you wanted to save and get an M3 that's another story. You will never get back the money you put into your car, stick with it or get something significantly better not marginally better.

Sounds like you don't have enough money to buy a newer car, so the answer should be obvious - keep it. In reality however, there's no way you'll be able to keep the 323i if you don't learn to properly maintain it and fix it yourself, paying a special attention to its several weak points. So, if you can't do this, you'll be much better off selling the car (after returning to stock and losing most of the so called 'upgrades') and getting into something cheaper to maintain.

Your 23-25 MPG on highways is a telltale sign the car is not in a good shape. A 330i would typically achieve 28-30 MPG. My 323i does 30-32 regularly and could do better if I try.

But yeah anyone telling You a 325 is faster doesn't know $hit. There practically the same, in fact a 323 has more torque and slightly less hp. Which is over rated any ways.

You've got a clapped out E46. It doesn't look like a race car. It probably looks like ****. You really think that if you can't afford to buy a slightly newer E46, you can afford a paint job that will rival the factory one? Yeah...

You've got an exhaust system that adds little to no power, but lots of noise.

Garbage aftermarket headlights.

I don't see any upgrades on your list.

Seriously, it's not a fast (by contemporary standards at least) car. If you want to impress someone with speed on a budget, get a Civic and turbo it or get something with a small block V8. More importantly, stop trying to impress people with mere material possessions.

I agree with this. These cars are so similar depending on options. Anyone with a 325i who says that car is faster hasn't a clue.

Now if your car is an automatic, forget it.

It is a car, and an old one at that so stop trying to pretend it is something other than that. Don't get me wrong, I have a 323ci and love it, but I certainly do not think it is cool or fast, it just gets me from point a to point b safely using very little gas. I bought it because it was cheap transportation when I moved out of the city to the suburbs.

You should not be so concerned about what others say about you or your car- that is class of 2012 e-penis measuring stuff. I get a huge kick out of the pathetic little dolts who drive a 330 and like to poke fun at 323,325,328's acting like a 330 somehow in the same league as the m3.

I highly doubt it is more efficient and have never heard of people getting 30+ mpg with a 330, but please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Nice spelling btw.

Who cares if it's fast/slow/whatever. I like my car and enjoy driving it despite the fact that any mustang after 2002 can outrun me
