those with headers installed please chime in

The next mod I can afford are headers but need to know how you gents got done. Ca emissions I mean. So please let me know what your secret is and if its worth the effort and $$$.

Do it right after your smog check then swap them out in 2 years.

Its worth it. I miss mine. Just do the swap yourself and save yourself some money. I had a shop do it the first time I had them installed and I regret it

jbl, what drewdown mentioned was correct. I just got smog done in June and have 2 years to figure something out. I will most likely pay someone off for my next smog check. If that doesn't work, I will just reinstall my old manifold (its sitting in the garage) - its a pain in the azz but you gotta pay to play

try not to keep your exhaust too loud...cops will know whats up and you can get the biggest form of fix-it ticket imaginable since removing the cats is a federal offense (I'm talking $1000's).

Easy Stevy, yes I've searched and the threads of headers are all over AMERICA!! We have the toughest emission regulations here in Cali thus my posting only in Cali forums. Why should I care what bimmers do in a state with less hassles to get registered? Im a Socal Native and die a Native.

yeah thats a fursure no go on emmisiones but just do the 2 year thing..it works untill that certain point lol
