One more issue to the list.

Serpentine belt snapped. Pulley and tensioner went out also. All the parts come out to around 100 bucks plus another 60 for labor. Id do it myself but im short on money and time. Gotta love those E46's.

If that was the original serpentine belt that snapped, then everything else is likely to go soon. For a 12 year old car > Time to seriously consider a Complete cooling system overhaul if they are still factory originals. ~$480 for the complete kit, learn to DIY. And remember to bleed the system properly afterwards to prevent overheating.

If you can't do the complete overhaul right away..

At least check your waterpump carefully (for any wobble - it's bearing and seal could have been damaged from the shock) and fan blades to make sure they were not chipped/damaged by flying bits from pulleys - which would throw off its balance and cause further damage after you get everything put back together.

Better to be certain, than sorry.

Belts should never snap. They are easily inspected for wear.

Do you have a manual or an automatic? If you have an automatic, you just need a new fan clutch and blades. Inspect your belts anyway. It's not that hard.

Yea Ive already replaced the radiator and just got my fan replaced and temperature sensor. Im going to have my mechanic check my cooling components though. Sucks if anything else got messed up. Gonna get both belts just in case too.

Looks like one of the parts that failed maybe made it break because there was no belt on there anymore by the time i checked the car.

Your mechanic should have told you to change the belts. They are the easiest thing on the car to inspect besides the tread depth and oil level.

I fail to see how he could have missed it.
