Howdy stranger

Check the classifieds, a few people are selling Dinan and ECIS intakes.

If it rains or snows where you live, then ECIS.

Hmm, see inside

If money was not a factor, I would go custom. Damn that would be sweet if you had a ACS front chin spoiler and the space in the middle, fill it with a custom air intake funnel. Or do some body work and get the M3 air inlets and connect them to a custom air box.

If money was a factor, I'd say ECIS is the first option. The intakes without a heat shield would draw alot of direct heat into the engine and decrease performance. ECIS is a good option and realistically right now the only option until a rice maker decides to do a Bimmer one. Dinan is a little more costly and they lower the intake into a colder air zone. Performance wise, DINAN is not offering any better perfermance than the ECIS and the DINAN is harder to install. There's not much better performance because the area they put the intake into cooler area but is kinda a dead zone with a little forced air from the fog light area where as ECIS gets cold air from the headlight snorkel which is in a higher pressure area than the foglight area thats why performance is near the same. just my opinion.

Not for the money. It's almost the same setup as ECIS with a different filter.

Are there any concerns regarding the filters on intakes letting too much dirt in?

Does ECIS / Dinan accept only one type of filter or can different filter brands be used?
