Suggestion For A Detailing Shop in Northern Virginia?

I have a friend who is looking to get their car detailed in the Northern Virginia area. As I do it all myself, I wasn't sure where to suggest he go. Can anyone provide input

I'd say no to NAB. I had them do a hand wash once and was disappointed with the work. What all is your friend looking to have done Chase? Just a wash, wash/wax, paint correction? What kind of price ranges.

I have a guy in Lorton that does fantastic work. F1 Auto Detailers.

Raja in Herndon also does a great job as well... but a little more expensive.

I've got a 2002 330ci convertible that has a lot of swirl marks and light scratches in the paint. Also has a couple of small door dings. I'm looking for someplace in northern VA (I live in Alexandria) that will do a good job polishing the paint and can remove the dings. Anyone have this sort of work done in or around the DC area and could provide a solid recommendation? Thanks.

F1 or F3? Couldn't find them online. I'm at Oakes in philly right now, he's posted some great pics of his work on this forum.

There's also some Brad guy in Fairfax--John in VA referred to him in John's BMW programming clinic post.

SpeedFreak aka Brian Lewis offers a detailing service. He has detailed M3s and 335s where owners were extremely satisfied.

From my conversation w/ him on bimmerpost:
Quote:
I can do pretty much anything you need, from just a wash to full paint correction.

Basic wash includes wash of the vehicle, wheel wells, wheels and tires, detail spray on the body and dressing of the tires. I charge $75 for this service.

If you want to get more involved I offer the below options as well.

The basic detail entails a thorough wash of the exterior/wheels/wheel wells followed by a coat of sealant to protect the paint, topped by a carnauba wax to give depth and extra shine. I also treat the rims with a good sealant to repel brake dust. Tires are dressed as well. Basic charge for this service is $150 and normally takes 3-4 hours because I like to take my time to ensure everything is done thoroughly.

Full paint correction/protection is $350 and is as follows:

Wash with dawn to remove wax and other pre-existing protectants, then I'll clay the entire car to remove contaminents, brake dust, overspray, and industrial fallout. After the clay is complete I'll rewash the car to remove any remaining residue. After the wash is complete I'll tape off all molding and trim as well as seals to protect them from polish. At this point the compounding/polishing begins. Normally I'll do a few test areas to see what combo of polish/pad works the best for your individual vehicle, and then begin from there working from most aggressive to least aggressive until swirling and hazing are removed and we're left with a smooth, glass like finish. After the polishing stage is complete I'll rinse the car to remove any dusting leftover from the compounding process, then apply a sealant to lock in the work and protect the paint. LSP (last step product) will be a 100% carnauba to give the paint that last bit of shine and depth. A full detail like this is pretty time consuming and more than likely would take a full day if not more depending on the condition of the paint.
The clear bra is not a problem, and as long as a detailer doesn't use compound that is unusually aggressive, can be polished just like a paint.

I can also do a full engine detail/degrease/protect for $50 as well as full interior detail for $75.

Ace Auto Detailing does a fantastic job and best of all they come to you, at work or home. I had them do both of my cars last Spring and am going to have them do both again this Spring.

wvgrbc,
Contact Brad Will - http://reflectionsautosalon.com/. He's in Sterling/Ashburn, but mobile so might be able to work something out with you. He also works with the guys from www.dentmasters.com
Brad put on a workshop for the local BMW club chapter yesterday, and DentMasters took care of our dings - excellent work!

I had Brad Will from Reflections do the car - Cost me $250 for a 2 step machine polish (orbital) and clay bar treatment. Car looks great. He worked really hard on the car, took about 5 hours. Did the work at my house. Very professional and highly recommended.
