BMW competition vs Performance rotors

Does anyone have any experience with the quality/performance difference between the BMW competition rotors and the BMW performance rotors. What I have learned so far is that the performance are slotted and drilled while the competition are just drilled. I am also curious about finish and appearance. The ones on the ECS site (competition rotors) seem to already be rusted in the photo. While I am not looking for a big brake kit expense I would like them to look pleasant. Both types seem to be an upgrade over my 330ci standard brakes.

And yes I have searched!!

You are simply referring to old vs new style of the same part.

The internet is full of discussions on the pros and cons of drilled vs slotted vs drilled and slotted.

Bottom line here is price ...

At the price the rotors are being sold by ECS you cannot go wrong ...

All rotors will develop surface rust when not in use. The centers are Aluminum on the fronts so no issue there and painted Grey steel (like OE units) in the back.

Go for the ECS units. I bought two sets ...
