Koni Yellow Install Question
Finally swapped my springs, but now second guessing myself....
I used a jack to lift my control arm onto the strut, tightening the pinch bolt once it was fully seated and the strut began to compress. Common sense, and all the DIYs at e46fanatics agree. But is this right? or should the bottom groove/taper line-up with the top of the collar? Mine is 1/4" - 1/2" inside. Picture below is of a Koni FSD but has the same body. I'm referencing approx. 4" from the bottom. The shop who originally installed these had this groove about 1/2" up from the collar, which didn't seem right. Thanks. |

If I remember correctly, OE had the lip right at the top of the collar.
