side markers..how do i get them off to change bulbs?

i tried to slide them back, pull them off..whatever i do i feel like im gonna break them

I found it easier to slide forward on my 02 m3. slide forward, pull rear out, then turn 90 degrees and pull whole unit out.

i cant figure it out..im having real trouble with this !! i installed eyelids and reflectors and changed my fogs to zenons and i cant even get my side markers off!!??
