So I just picked up my "new" 99 328i this weekend. It is a none sport and I have realized that I am going to have to replace the shocks, struts and springs. My options I am thinking of are:
Going with the sports package set up
H&R Touring Cup Suspension Kit
H&R Sport Cup Suspension Kit
Just wondering, it the touring stiffer or about on par with the bmw stock sport set up?
Also, des anyone have an opinion on the H&R sport set up?
The Touring kit pairs the Sport Springs with matched shocks while the Sport Kit pairs the Race Springs with matched shocks. I'd suggest the touring kit unless you want a slammed and very aggressive ride.
id say its (H&R sport cupkit) more than a tad stiffer than factory E46 sport setting.
youll like it, but HnRs are on the stiff side, as far as entry level suspension kits go.
And they give the car a raked stance (front lower than rear) which some like, and some dont.
The raked stance I do not mind. I do not want a overly aggressive set up but something that will be fun on the street and do okay on the track. Right now this is my DD and Minnesota winters make for interesting driving with lower riding cars. I do not have a boat load of money so coilovers are out. I am thinking I want to do the H&R touring kit and beef up my sway bars to either the ZHP bars or go a little further as I HATE body roll....which I suffer with a lot of.
