Skipping CD changers are sometimes caused by incorrect mounting. There are two little mounting "thingies", one on each side of the changer. They have to be turned to the proper orientation for the changer.

I've seen a changer installed in the vertical orientation, but only one of these "thingies" was turned properly. Thus, the changer wasn't mounted correctly, and skipped badly.

Double check your mounting. Even on the M3 with the stiff suspension, this fixed the skipping problem.
