i like the 3shotburst myself!
i think it has something to do w/the main control module because i set them on my wife's x5 by pushing on the "obc" stick.

Send a message via AIM to SL Blak Soldier
you can change it via NCS Expert/SSS if i'm not mistaken. Like you said, you have to have a new module.

It is changed via the Car Key Memory. It needs to performed by the dealer with the SSS or ISSS.

IIRC, you need to have a 2005+ LCM in order for it to code properly. I know of 1 ZHP that was able to do it

You need a 2006 or newer LSZ. I've got this function on my car, but I grabbed an LSZ from an 06 M3 and wiped the VIN so that I can use it.

That's what I need but I didn't think it had to be 06+. I thought it could be coded as a euro-spec e46 etc...

Im trying to learn the coding capabilities still..

The car can be any year, but the module has to be from on 06. Basically you need a c36 or c37 LSZ to get it to work. I think it should be possible to upgrade the software through some hardware hacking, but thats beyond my capabilities.

IMO it's nice for lane changes. More useful than just a single flash

I would not recommend a newer LCM. The LCM is one of two modules that stores the VIN/mileage.

With the right tools the LSZ can be reset to factory settings, and then resynced with the car it's going into. Or you can just buy a brand new one.

How were you able to wipe the VIN? I've been wanting 3 flash for a while, I loved it on my e90.

I have a tool (PASoft 1.4) that can be used to wipe the VIN and mileage off an LCM

So once you do that, if you program your cars vin and actual mileage, there will be no tamper dot?
