In addition to all who have an automatic. Daily driving to and from work in and around NYC is a lot of stop and go driving which deters a lot of us from getting a manual transmission. We love a manual but the constant shifting to 10-20 miles an hour only to stop again in 20ft. is a pain. I love my 330xi with the steptronic and I guess I am going to find out how well it handles in the snow by tomorrow.... Toomy T.

Listed for 6500 but probably can knock a grand off that if i go there with cash easy...maybe more if im lucky. even has new tires. Other then the fact its missing almost 40hp compared to the 330xi...do you guys think i should consider it? You guys have been a big help so far and thanks.
Dont do it... Buy the first one. Red cars are faster. Couple of real reasons:

1. 330xi vs 325xi... 330 will be quicker and more fun to drive as the 40 extra hp is very usable (no offense meant to my 325 breathren out there). The 330 engine will have more usable tourque as well.
2. 150k vs 80k... Are you kidding? With 150k you will need to replace everything in the suspension unless it has been done already. You ought to plan on Vanos seals as well.
3. Price... yes the 325 is cheaper at $6500 but there is more real value in the 330 at $8500 with your stated mileage.
3. Like I said about red cars...

ya i know red cars are faster...i have had 2 red trans ams already lol. Ya i really do want the 33xi but i only have about 9000 saved and not sure if i just want to blow it all in one shot if you feel me. I already saw the red car in person and if i see this 325xi and it all checks out...maybe i will offer the person a stupid number like 5000 and see if they take it. im only going to take it if all the services have been done...im not looking for a bomb

alright forget all this. i wanted to buy a car with o payment but its not working out. I just found a 2008 335xi red with black int, auto, the sport, premium, cold weather, and 18"rims with increased top speed limiter for $16k. it has higher miles 90K but still under BMWs extended warrenty. Im going to look at it on monday and if i like it im going to put the down payment on it.

If the car is not what it seems to be then i have a 2007 328xi red with tans int with the premium package and only 40K on it for $16K. sure its 70 hp less but still more then the 330xi i was looking at and less miles and in better shape.

We shall see what happens but i a really hoping for the twin turbo 335xi...god that would be sweet

Your price range seems pretty wide, percentage wise, from $5K to 16K.
In the Porsche world, I usually tell friends to buy the newest model with warranty that they can afford. As a mechanic, you can buy whatever suits your fancy. I feel the older BMWs are somewhat more "fun" to work on.

^I'm a big fan of the e9x platform, a lot more luxurious than the e46. You cant go wrong with a 335xi
