Grinding/Metal on Metal Noise in Rear
Hey I know everyone hates trying to just live with noises on their car but we're all pretty good at it after owning an E46. lol
After getting new tires I had a lot of bad noises coming from the rear on my car. It sounded like rubbing but it didn't happen exclusively when the rear was fully compressed. Going over bumps or turning sharply is what made it happen, but it didn't just happen under a hard load. I took the wheel off and goofed around for a bit and cut off or dremeled down anything that had rub marks on it. But that didn't fix it. Eventually I noticed that the foam pad under the adjuster for my rear coilover had come a little bit loose. There was a point where the adjuster was touching the control arm. So I put some foam under it and everything is back to normal
