Cheap BMW Performance floating rotors:ECS

Hello BMW Experts!
Seems ECS has a great deal on the BMW OEM performance floating lite rotors:
front: $149.95
rear: $129.95

What do you experts think?

sounds to good to be true... prolly not a "true" floating rotor like pfc.

Does this fit non-m E46? i couldn't find info anywhere.

no, it won't fit. it's only meant for e90.

does it mean that it's impossible? no, others have gotten it to fit by getting custom brackets made. but i still don't see why you'd want to do that considering these brakes weren't meant for the e46 so you're messing with brake bias.

best to wait and find something on classifieds, i've seen stoptechs for 1200 in the past.

This correct, it would not fit the brackets would not match.

hope this is going on for a while. I'll be buying new pads, tires and rotors when my tax return comes in.

E8X?, they are 135i brakes IIRC. Tischer was selling a 6/4 kit for 1500 some time ago. Bias, a front brake upgrade only doesnt make much sense.

per the BMW M department, these are floating...

Suitable for street, track, or race use. The "floating" design separates the central rotor hat from the outer disk, allowing the disk to expand radially with heat and limiting heat transfer to the hub. The theory is that the rotor will not "cup" or distort under extremely hot race use, resulting in better braking performance and better rotor and pad wear. Additional benefits include lighter weight, approximately 1.5lbs per rotor.

BMW Motorsport uses a "radial floating" design where the floating connectors between the rotor hat and the rotor disk connect in the center of the disk between the inside and outside face planes using a radial (straight out) pin. It's a very interesting construction that is not simply "assembled" but built all together at the foundry level.

They are not the standard OEM rotors, they are more like BMW Performance Aftermarket rotors, like M5 OEM.

gotcha, was thinking more of the two piece design, that allows you to replace the disc separate from the hat. Not sure how well and if at all those standoffs work though. 2 piece designs allow some movement when the disc heats up.
