335xi motor swap?
Would a 335xi motor and tranny fit in a 2001 e46 330xi car?

Would it fit, maybe. It would take a lot of creative work and a lot of fabrication to make it fit. Would it work, absolutely not. Solution: Sell the E46, buy an E92 335i/xi (or the 335i xdrive as they call it now |

Do a 330xd conversion from the 330xi while you are at it as well!

The engine electronics would go berserk if it physically fit.

You would also need to swap over that whole drivetrain. Doubt the e46 axles would fit the e90 tranny/diffs. Just be happy you have a better looking car

I've seen an E30 with a S85 in it. So anything's possible, but not if you're wallet isn't big enough.
