We got 22in of snow in MN the weekend before thanksgiving. Then another 6in a week and a half later...then another 5in last weekend...and we're supposed to get another 4-6 over new years.
The 22 incher shut down a lot of things but the xi was out there pounding the pavme....err...snow! |

I got stuck in my parent's driveway with ~18" of snow on the ground. With snow tires on too. But it's probably because I was wearing my boots and couldn't feel the pedals at all. Didn't exactly let off the clutch gracefully, nor did I really ease on the gas, ahahahaha. I rocked myself back and forth and got out of it though. Good times

My XI is doing pretty well in the snow, had to clear the driveway first because there were over 4 ft drifts, but after that I had no problems. Only time I ever have issues in mine is when the snow is so high that the middle of the car just lifts off the ground and the tires don't even touch the street. Those are the times I regret lowering it...
Only happened once though

traction wise my xi is doing amazing in the snow i was even driving on my summer tires because i didnt get a chance to change over to my winter rims only problem i have is clearance since it is lowered with a CSL bumper i have almost zero clearance and while driving in the storm last night one of the splitters of the csl bumper actually ripped off so with that said im finally at the point were i regret lowering my car and im thinking about trading it in for an X5
![]() i did have to shovel it out this morning though but only due to clearance

First winter with car and I have to say I was a little worried with some of the comments made about 2 sets of tires and how the car handles in snow. After digging out my wifes truck and my sons car I cleaned off the 330xi and took her out for a spin. My road had been plowed but when I cut down a side street that had only been touched by other vehicles, no plow, the car handled great. I have Bridgestone A/S on and was very impressed in how the car handled the plowed and unplowed streets.

Thank God for global warming. Can you imagine what it would be like if we weren't having this heat spell?

I was doing well with it....loved it last winter in the 40 inches of snow we got all within 14 days.
However, three days ago the 3 inches we got was enough to criple my XI. Slid into a curb. Car is not drivable now. Destroyed radiator, sway bar, cross member, frame rail mount, shattered steering rack, blown steering hose, bent control arms and torn bushings, busted front bumper, busted all the plastic undertray shielding etc, blown driver's airbag and battery pyro. Thankfully all body panels are fine with zero damage. The mystery element is how costly the frame rail repair will be as to if the car is rebuilt or parted out.
