True. I will have totally overhauled the suspension system so that should be AOK. Tending to the serpentine belt and hoses next month.

Well, on Tuesday I'll be working during the day but, come 5pm, I'll be "autobots rolling out" in the big green machine

Could either do dinner or lunch if you wanted to come into my neck of the woods.

you can have half of las vegas hookers plus a bag of blow for that money!
at 5-8k i just replaced the air shock on my cayenne and it wasn't even 2000$ from the dealer. and +1 chase the ride is amazing. comfort mode for city and sport for highway. feels tighter than my 330ci was on the twisties. i never tried normal yet.

btw nice pick up love those trucks.

Nice, welcome to the LR community. Now be prepared to mod in the opposite way of the 3 and buy smaller rims and larger profile tires...

Well, now that I have this, I will be lowering the 3 a good bit. Just going to wait for show season. No reason to rush it as the car is already damn low. Sitting next to guys slammed all the way, unless they have chunky front lips, I will still be lower as the vorsteiner front lip and gtr skirts are just so low.

Exactly. I don't know why anyone would expect to pay 5-8k for a shock... like WTF

The ride is unbelievable. I took the long route to work today to go through some of the twisties in VA and it feels as tight (though much more roll) as my 3 with bilstein pss9s. I'm sure around really hard cornering, I'd be fawked but for normal mans driving, it's a very capable car.

And as for comfort, out of this world. Feels like I'm driving on air... wait a second... I am

... I think I'll be putting on 20 inch rims off the range rover sport when it comes time to change out the tires. A lot of guys will sell their oem rims with brand new tires (after buying "gangster wheels" and rubber band tires). I'd love those sport rims. .so nice

And so glad to be part of the LR community... it's so close knit. I can ask the dumbest of questions on RR.net and people are still super willing to help.. none of this hostility.

Ah, that allows you to control the height of the armrest. Instead of having "up or down" you can lower it down and then raise or lower it at will. If you want it at a 90% angle, set it there and tighten.. .everytime you lower it, it will catch at that level. If you want it slightly elevated or slightly declined, just set it there. It's really actually quite comfortable. I prefer mine maybe around a 80* angle from the seat for some reason. The creature comforts on this car are really pretty damn stellar and the seats are sooo onice.

I'll be honest with you, when I bought the Sport I had no intention of taking it off-road, but if you really want to explore the capabilities of it and have a tremendous amount of fun while you're doing it, this is where it's at. I have 3 different wheel/tire setups now - street, snow, and off-road.

Does sound awfully tempting. My older p38 and your rr sport would make a funny pairing yours is based off the land rover chassis though so I think I have to have limited association at the off roaring site. I think there is a sibling rivalry amongst the two. In all seriousness we totally should would be way fun

A tech that works at my dealership has a 00' and it's in our shop more often than any Nissan :/. Two weeks ago he had his air ride blow out on the freeway which caused him to run into the median. He replaced with a spring/shock combo just because he didn't want to risk that accident again. If the weather had been bad or if it had been busy on the freeway, it could have easily caused a lot of damage, flipped, or done much worse.

Get Arnott Gen III air springs and you should be in the clear. Basically a ton of aftermarket stuff works a million times better than OEM stuff. From what I heard, these cars have a bunch of issues but none of them will leave you stranded. I had a RR Classic and, except for some overheating issues in hot weather, the thing was a tank. I love range rovers!
