you guys shouldn't say the word "bought" if you are still doing your monthly payments especially if youre young unless youre rich and paid it in cash. its not your car, until you have the pink slip in your hand, the bank owns it. The question should be, "how old were you when you first got your bmw pink slip?".

No offense to some members on the group but there are dudes making less than $35K driving in fairly new cars - lol like leasing a $40k car - wtf - the car is worth more than what you make in a year!

OP just be sensible - good luck!

My Ride: Rental...for now.
I was 18 I believe. I had an e32 "big boy" 750iL v12. Too much car for me then. Paid 900 cash for it from a friend. Power steering pump was bad, engine was running rough, the rear end sat on cut springs which made the ride quality poor but looked damn good. the catalyst were clogged and it overheated most of the time if i drove it for too long.

16yrs old, I inherited my dad's 3.0cs CSL Replica complete with original Batwings, boxed fenders and everything! I hated it then but now wished I kept the car.

20 Years old. Got it for a steal, doing all the work myself and paying for it all myself. No loans, nothing. Just living off of pasta and ragu until I get some of my cash for this summer

My Ride: 2001 330CI
10 years ago (when I was 16)I bought an 88 325i for 2500 dollars. At 19 I bought a 92 325i for 5000. At 26 I bought a 2001 330ci for 7500.
I had a few other cars in between those. Drove around my step dads 84 300zx before I saved up for the first bmw. After the e36 I had a 95 Maxima and then a 99 Accord.

28 when I bought my then new factory ordered '01 E46. I finished my graduate degree, and bought a house. Then one of my cars was totalled. Actually my BMW was the first "new" car I bought and I wanted it exactly the way I wanted it. I really have no reason to sell it for a newer BMW. At the time I got my loaded '07 A3, I wasn't too hip on getting another sedan or dealing with a coupe. Pink slip on the E46 I've had for the past 5 years, its not even relevant.

At this point, I'd ditch the A3, keep the E46 and consider a S2000, modded Miata, Z3MC, Hyundai Genesis coupe, maybe a G35/350.
