Quick question about front endlink alignment
It's been so long since I've messed with it and I've forgotten.
I'm running Koni Yellows up front. They don't have an alignment pin so they spin until you tighten them. Spinning them changes the angle of the endlink. Do I run the endlink parallel to the shock or perpendicular to the ground? I put them perpendicular to the ground, but I'm second guessing myself. Thanks! Just replaced my shock mounts (front and rear). Made a huge difference in ride.

I broke my pins when swapping to stock springs for winter. You should be able to see a mark/paint chip where the pin once existed.
Now, a question for you..... when jacking up the control arm, did you raise the arm until it couldn't go up any further? or is there a set measurement? I ask because the shop who originally installed my lowering springs didn't install the control arm as high, rather installing ~.5" lower then me. I raised my control arm with a floor jack until the strut began to compress. |

Kinda confused by your description, parallel with the shock is perpendicular from the ground. I have mine going from the swaybar, vertically up, attaching to the tab on the shock body, positioned in a manner where the endlink ball joints are as centered as possible. I have adjustable sways though, so depending which hole I bolt them into slightly changes the angle.
Turd, yes you jack up the under the CA until the shock body is fully seated. Twisting and wiggling the shock body while jacking up under the CA helps persuade it in. Once the strut begins to compress and visually appears correct it is seated.

I meant I could see a paint chip on the strut, from where the alignment pin used to be.
You should have the same... makes it simple. If not, I can take a picture for you. |
