Help! Radio blows fuses immediately
2001 330i with H/K and CD changer in the glove nox. So I bought a single din screen. Plugged in the new wiring harness to the new radio to make sure everything worked before installing and I noticed a smell. Looked up and the wires going from the factory harness to the CD changer were smoking. (Should have disconnected battery I know) Quickly unplugged it all. Decided to let someone else install it so I went to reinstall my OEM radio and it wouldn't come on. Checked the fuse and it was blown. Replaced it and it blew immediately. The only thing is it wont blow when the plug for the cd changer isn't plugged in. So I assume its grounding somewhere, but the radio wont power on at all without that plugged in. Please help Fanatics! Im out of ideas

You fried something in the CDC or the CDC wiring. Find it and replace it.

You probably melted the insulation on a live wire which causes it to short somewhere.. Can you take some pictures of the connectors?
Are the aftermarket stuff still working after this?
