Not that it means much, but he's all over the ticketing site/posters/banners/etc. for this upcoming friendly with his name being specifically advertised. Wouldn't be the first time a marketing campaign has bent the truth to sell tickets, though, lol.

The Messi and Friends vs The Rest of the World was horribly managed in the USA... many disappointed fans... But he is usually good when it comes to International Friendlys... saw him live twice in Metlife in NJ and once in Camp Nou Barcelona, amazing athlete.

Well, after a fairly so-so qualifying, England finally got our act together and won the last two games in some style and booked our place in Brazil. The only down side is that with a FIFA ranking of only 17, we'll not be seeded for the draw and will get a tough group as a result.

I was shocked and delighted to see USA ranked above ol' Blighty in the recent Fifa rankings

It only takes a few shitty qualifying results followed by losses in meaningless friendlies for the rankings to slide quickly. All that said, this is like the UK being ranked higher than the US at basketball or gridiron...

Oh my goodness....

Watch a real game. Perhaps a game featuring two of the bigger rivals within the sport.

I'll never understand why Americans despise the world's favorite sport so much. Take a look. (prepare for a large image):

To each its own I guess. The only thing I am happy about not having a son (2 daughters) is that I won't have to go anywhere near a baseball/softball field...

americans have a very short attention span. they need to be entertained with a high scoring game or they get bored very quickly. i mean everybody watches nascar for the crashes and football is one big commercial...i mean just look at the halftimes at the super bowls. btw, if i was ever forced to watch 10 minutes of baseball i would jab scissors into my eyeballs.

You guys are crazy, lol. I love both soccer and baseball (with not much of an interest in hockey or football) and find them equally exciting.

Makes no difference - we're only up to 10th and the rankings for the draw were taken before the last two qualifying games, so our ranking is still outside the top 8 seeds (7 because Brazil are the hosts and take one of the top 8 slots). Ranking went up because we played two competitive games and won them both, and the ranking weightings favour European nations.

Madridistas complaining about penalties... almost as bad as Ronaldo.

Where was the complaining when Real was awarded a PK in the 94th minute vs Elche? Refs been on their side since the start of the season... glad to see them have a taste of their own medicine.

Oh yeah, Neymar > Bale... younger and less expensive too.
