BMW Speakers ? Amp? Wires?
I am having some problems with my speakers. My highs and mids are not working at all. The only speakers working are the lows/bass. The speakers i have are the 10 set BSW plug and play speakers. I also have a Kenwood KVT-614 in dash navigation.
At first the speakers would work and cut out, happening several times until finally they just never came back on. I bought a replacement OEM amp and that did not fix the problem. Tried checking fuse 7 and 41 and disconnecting the battery still nothing.... Does anyone (BSW rep) know what may be the problem? I went to a audio store and they quoted me 600 to replace an amp and rewire the speakers? (Not even sure that will fix the problem) Too me that seem steep... what do you guys think the problem is and if 600 is to much? |

This happened to me once, and I felt like a total idiot when it was solved. I'm not saying this is the case, but move around the wire loom that connects to your driver's side door panel. Sometimes, if a wire moves just right, it can get crimped in there. Just keep working it around and open/close your driver door quite a bit and see if that'll fix it. As for mine, they didn't work for a day or so, but lo and behold, I got back in the car one day, shut the door, and my speakers started working again.

so the wires from one of door panel can cause all the mids and tweeters to go out from all 4 doors? I will try it out tomorrow morning thanks.

Yeah, I know that sounds strange, but none of my highs or mids were working, just the lows. A crimped wire in the driver's side door solved it.
