yeah, its rather quick process if you have 1 jack you can do 2 wheels at a time, they don't have to be PERFECT clean. Plastidip is VERY forgiving of spraying errors, it makes for a quick spray and dry, on a hot day about 10 minutes a wheel.

Hey all,

How does it hold up to regular washing etc, any special products or process?

Thanks

Ive had mine for a few months now and it has held up great. Because its rubber, I dont have any rock chips or tears. I just use a sponge and try not to scrub too hard but it seems to hold up well to normal washing (I applied 3 coats to my wheels). I also did this for my kidney grills and they have held up as well. Great mod!

Is is possible to get a gloss black finish on rims as opposed to the matte finish the plastic dip gives? Maybe by clear coating them also? Anyone have any pics?

Yes, just used plastidip as the "primer", then paint and clear. It will make it more difficult to peel later on down the road though.

Is it better to prime the wheels befor spraying plastidip? Or is it useless? I clean my car in a local self-car-washing area ... is plastidip resistant? :o

If you're going to properly prep something for paint; sand, prime, etc... why use plastidip then?
