If he's in the desert goofing off I'm sure he'll just rambo style bump fire on his hip but seems logical and fun. In all seriousness have a spare battery in his bag or go home ship to primary arms and receive a new/fixed one. They have great customer service

I was going to order the primary arms micro dot but they were out of stock so I ended up going with the trs-25. However, I just received an unexpected raise and am wondering if I should cancel my order and go with an eotech or an aimpoint? With me just getting into AR's is there a noticeable performance difference for the extra $ or is it something I wouldn't be effected by? I know it's a horrible thing to base a purchase off of, but I do like the looks of the eotech

Palmetto state armory and s&w should also be looked at http://palmettostatearmory.com/index...e-carbine.html

Thanks for the links!

I've definitely got some research to do, but those Palmetto State rifles look nice, and well priced for what they come with. All I would need to add would be a red dot site and an angled foregrip.

Buy once, cry once...

It depends man...for your use, the trs-25 is probably fine. The eotech and Aimpoint are superior units, but you could probably use the extra dough for something else, like irons, a stock, grip, mags, etc.

Why the rush to buy an AFG?

I was part of a group buy out here in CA for "Quentin Defense" 80% lowers. Did not purchase a lpk yet but I just dropped my DD fcg from my ddm4 into the lower for now and I'm just trying to find a place that sells the other lpk stuff I need. What buffer tube do you have Adam? I ordered a RRA, hopefully I like it.

I have the vltor tube on my sbr. But you cant use a regular tube on the pistol. I would be careful with that. Phase 5 tactical makes a nice pistol tube. I'm guessing you bought a rra pistol buffer tube though so that should be fine. My pistol lower has paracord wrapped around the tube.

oh yeah i'm for sure following the law and running the rra pistol buffer tube. Would not risk all of my guns and break the law by doing it the wrong way. Between the 3 optics I have (h-1, comp m4s and exps2-2), not sure which one I want to toss on there. I'm probably going to end up trying all of them on the pistol. Adam, did you get to try out what sprinco buffer spring you liked on the pistol?

No I just got them last week or 2 actually. I'm going to go the range wed or fri and start with red spring h2 and work from there( I have a red, blue, white and h and h2, t3 t2 and t1 buffer) so I'll just see what works best. I think Reedo runs red and h2 in his sbr. I just ordered the exps2-0 for mine.

I fired my brother-in-law's AR with an AFG and it felt a lot more comfortable than the vertical. Is there a reason why I should not?

Most people that I know (including me, lesson learned) bought them and ended up getting rid of them. Just trying to save you some cash up front. If you have tried it and like it, then go for it.

I did the same thing with the afg2, just doesn't feel right. I ended up going with a Troy modular combat grip but I don't hold it the normal way.

the afg appears to work well for people who have a thumb over barrel grip with their support hand. i have an afg2 on one of my rifles and it is very comfortable, and i hold it almost the same way as i do my other rifle with a vfg. its definately not for everybody.
