I was trying to order my rail quickly before I drove up north and while waiting at a pit stop on the way realized the omega is a two piece drop in

The Omega is technically a drop-in rail, but only for the purposes of initial installation. It secures only to the barrel nut, and it IS a free-float rail.
The DD EZCAR rail is the only rail they make that isn't free float.

I'm in need of a lightweight bipod for this semi-precision rig I'm building. I don't need anything crazy...it's going on a 16 inch rifle with a carbine-length rail. The grippod I have is really, really light which I like a lot, but I dint think it's as stable a platform as I'd like,

Anybody make anything really lightweight, durable, and precise?

Only bipod I've tried was the Harris BRM-S model and its paired up with a LaRue LT706 QD swivel mount. Works great for my predatAR and I so far. Feels real nice and solid and you can tilt it when needed.

That's the setup I have in the pistol also, waiting for the LPK and then I'll be able to see how she feels.

I might email tango down...on lightfighter he said the original arc mags have some issues in some guns and run perfect in others...they offered to switch out any problematic mags for the new gen ones for free, even the ones bought on blowout sale by brownells, which in my book just bumped tangodown way up in the CS department and they get a giant the only pain in the ass is I can't legally buy/get/trade 30 round mags in MD...so I would have to drive to PA to ship the mag, then have the new one shipped to PA and pick it up, with is kind of a pain in the ass, but I might send it back one day.

What do you guys think about a double star 15 with magpul furniture? I know someone selling a slightly used one for 820.00

Im deciding purchasing this or a Colt LE 6920 for 1150.00

Which would you buy?

What's the primary purpose of it? If you are trusting your life to it then get the Colt. If you are just going to plink at the range and it doesn't matter if/when it shits the bed then you can buy whatever brand AR has the best rollmark.

The furniture doesn't matter, it's the materials and workmanship of the rest that are what's important. Colt, Daniel Defense, BCM, and LMT are just some of the top manufacturers that you can trust and won't break the bank. Stepping down from there, I would look at Smith and Wesson.

Double Star is not very good, and $820 for a used one is pretty wishful thinking. If it was being sold for $500-$600, it might be a good pickup for a cheap range beater, but $820 for one when you can get a Colt for around $1k-1100? NO.

Colt is far superior in the materials used to build the rifle, and you cannot go wrong with one. It's one of the best base rifle setups you can buy.

I am going to use it for target practice at the range and also use it to protect my home.

I decided on the Colt since I dont want to own something that I can rely on if my life depended on it.

I'm looking for some input on the value of my complete A2 20"upper receiver. It was unfired untill I got bored and put a 22lr bolt in it and shot of 10 or 15 rounds. There is a keyhole with two dot markings on the UR. I painted the handgaurds to try to match my other parts. It it a "pre-ban" at this time with removable FH and bayo lug. I would include BCG and CH.

I need to help fund my new upper and Googling for this value gave a very wide range of prices. Thanks. Click image for larger version

Well, it's tough not knowing the manufacturer. Pre ban, as far as I know, means nothing as far as an upper is concerned. You might get someone who wants it if it's a colt and they're doing a retro build. Other than that, not sure what buyers would be totally scrambling for it.

I don't know that I could give you a reasonable ballpark for it. If its a colt, 400-650 maybe. Not sure about other manufacturers

I think Colts are marked as such and mine only has a generic forging stamp that is typical of off brand parts. I assume it is Mil-spec. If someone wanted this is from a ban state-as I am in,the flash hider would need to be pinned and the bayonet lug ground off. I can do that but it limits who I would sell it too. I have some nice DD parts on my wish list,I am just trying to avoid pulling out the credit card.
