I know they don't work with surefire mags, which is fine by me, but not working with new pmags may be a little upsetting and might make me look at different lowers, even though I love the noveske.
Stickman posted that there's a very quick and easy mod to get the m3 mags to work in the noveske lower..ill wait and see how easy and quick it is and hopefully it doesn't compromise anything.

Question: what are your thoughts on troy's alpha rail? I like the clean and simple look of the rail, but not sure if it's worth floating away from the tried and true options from DD or KAC.

Also, I have a 14.5" w/flash hider....what's the longest handguard I can get if I free float the barrel? Thanks

Have you used or tried a tube type rail? They are usually hit or miss (hit for me, I really liked it and I'm waiting on BCM to get in more of the VTAC Alpha uppers in stock). I don't have any experience with the Troy Alpha, but from my understanding the circle cut outs act like a cheese grater on your hand if you are not wearing gloves. The VTAC that I used, with the oval cut outs was great.

You can get a rail as long as you want since you don't need to worry about getting to the flash hider to change it.

Cheese grater eh? Shit....maybe I will stick to the DD then, get some rail covers for that circular feel.

In regards to the length, I stil have a fsb, and I cannot wait to get that thing knocked out. Too bad I don't have te tools to do it!

You can get a rail with a FSB cut out. Here is an example from Centurion.

Haha I was afraid that would be the case. My eyesight isn't that great at 100 to zero it precisely; that dot will just blend into the target I think. I need magnification at that range to make ultra precise shots, like for zeroing haha.

I use a 3X magnifer when I can to zero at 100y because my eyes are shitty too. However, you can zero at whatever distance you are comfortable. For me, it's just easier to remember the holdover for a 100y zero, rather than holdover and holdunder for anything closer. I know that I can shoot from 5y-200y and if I do my part the bullet path will only be 2.5" low at any point.

Yeah, ugh, that makes sense too. Don't really want to get a magnifier...I'll figure out some way to zero the darn thing.

Guess its good that the postlady delivered package 4 today.

Then zero at 50, plenty of people do that too. Or try both and see which you prefer.

Well truth be told I guess, I can't zero it until the upper its going on comes in haha. i could throw it on the 12.5, but I bought it for the 10.5. It's been 7.5 weeks since I ordered the thing at my dealer...either they screwed up or Noveske is really, really behind on their deliveries (which I'm told is most definitely a possibility).

Can I get some of your opinions on what RDS looks better? Having a hard time deciding what to mount on the pistol.

New surefire fury defender..thing is super bright and built like a tank, I chose this one over the surefire fury tactical because the defender has a clicky tail cap and I like the bezel. Mounted in a viking tactical mount.

You want to know which one looks the coolest? Nothing about function? Shouldn't really decide based on looks, but if I had to (as well as function on an AR pistol) I'd take the eotech. It has a wider FOV than the aimpoints, which when you're not really not getting a proper sight picture I think will be important.

Looks sweet. I've considered a new flashlight for the side of my SBR, but honestly, I think they're all too big. I took my G2 off because it was big and heavy and I was tired of all the superfluous stuff on the gun. If I was to get another, it would have to be really small, lightweight, and insanely bright. All of that equals super expensive likely, so I'm not sure it's worth it to me.
