Yeah, try to cancel that...or reject delivery. You don't need or want the compliant version

Gonna cost you some money I think...not sure.

Normally they offer an inspection period. Find some way to reject it. Fnd a blemish in the finish, find a problem with the fitment of the upper and lower or a rattle that shouldn't be there or soemthing. Tell the company to send it back and that it's unacceptable

It's not the end of the world. Replacing the buffer tube to be able to have the collapsable stock is not difficult, it will accept 30 round mags, and you can always replace the upper at some point if you want so that it has a muzzle device. Or you could swap the barrel to something you like more.

Either that, or find a way to reject it and request a refund

I asked a rep online and he said they generally don't cancel orders in shipping, but I could call in and ask in the morning but he doesn't know if they will do it. We'll see.

Sorry dude...but it's probably for the best. You don't want a compliant rifle

I would have spent more fixing the compliant one anyways. Now I'll just wait for another deal.

So I'm beginning the dis-assembly of the M16, to replace all the factory parts. Anyone have any tips for un-installing and re-installing these parts, particularly the ones held in by pins, etc.? For instance, I was going to start with the trigger guard pins. One pin is spring loaded; that one's easy. But the other pin is hammered in. I have the correct punch size i believe, but I know its going to take alot of hammering to get it out. I just wanna make sure I don't damage the lower by breaking or bending it the receiver itself

support the "ear" of the lower...i believe thats the easiest part of the lower to break/destroy in building/taking one apart. I haven't done it so I'm not much help, but from doing some reading that's what I've learned.

Decided to skip that for now...latest problem is getting the original buffer tube off it. It doesn't have a castle nut and appears simply to unscrew. Trouble is, I can't get it to unscrew haha

Do you have a magwell vise jig? That and a Magpul stock next to each other can be used in lieu of an armorers block.

You should be able to find it within $60 of that price. You may not find it "right now" but most places will allow you to back-order or sign up for email notification.

unfortunately not...but you did give me an idea. Perhaps I can use something else in the magwell to try and gain some leverage on the who thing...

EDIT: Amazing what a pipe wrench wrapped in a towel and stuck in the magwell, combined with a wrench in the right spot can do! Damn thing was completely stuck on there

Ha! My post was actually referring to the trigger guard.

I've got the vise blocks and punches (standard and roll pin) if you want to borrow them.
