Question : If I want to buy an AR pre-potential-ban, what would be the equivalent 3 series AR? In other words, I want a quality piece that's well built (like the BMW) but don't need the latest and greatest technology (7 series). Can anyone make a suggestion? I was thinking about a Bushmaster carbon ORC at 900 bucks. Get's good reviews (though gun pros label it cheap)... I don't need the coolest thing for a gun store but rather a quality piece that will last the apocalypse.

I posted this in another thread, but may as well ask it here. If I were wanting to pick up an assembled lower with a stock for $400 or less, what would be the best route? DPMS? Stag? ??

I just bought the identical item for $12 yesterday. Does CTD seriously mark up their prices like that??

go here right now and do this it takes about 30min...print it out at the end keep a copy in your wallet and send the other copy to Md State Police

http://www.mdgunsafety.com/

Then go to engage armament and they are focking awesome people to deal with. Bring you license and that card and talk to Andy, AJ, or Emily and they will walk you through the process and help you fill out all the paperwork. .You can't buy any regulated gun in md without completing that mdgunsafety BS. It's a very simple process...bring cash if you can to the gun shops as most charge extra for credit cards..

Shoot me a message on facebook if you have any questions

Adam, taking the course now and will stop at that store tomorrow... how does buying online work? I'm hearing that all the retail stores are sold out of AR-15s in the wake of the whispers in dC

Engage has those in stock for tomorrow when they reopen their new shop. They also have stripped lowers in stock and probably a couple different types of ARs available. If you can't find anything there and you want to ship something to a store. Contact a local gun shop first and ask them if they will do the transfer and what the price will be, most MD shops charge $40-60 for the transfer and md state background fee. Then order the gun online and call the store back and ask them to fax/email a copy of their FFL to said online store. Then when the gun arrives at the gun shop you go in and fill out all the paperwork. make sure you call the gun shop before you order and make sure doing a transfer isn't a problem, some gun shops are asses about it.

Very cool buddy. Is the colt 6920 the best bet for my "good, quality AR"?

Yes and it will never lose it's value. It's a much better purchase then the bushmaster IMO. The colt is a great gun.

Chase, I thought you lived in Arlington?

Really want to pick up a couple of stripped lowers, and apparently my local Walmart claims to have a 6920 in stock
