747 - how'd your cam install go? How'd you go about getting the needed tools?

Install was a breeze except for the exhaust side gear timing which I took to a German auto place and they did it for a hefty price because no diy's mentioned anything about that so beware. But It was easy to do without any special tools anyway

I'll upload some later today when I get home. I used black carpet for the seat rest and red suede on the back rest. Looks nice I think. Also Steven, I never weighed them. For the back rest I used one piece of strong foam; for the bottom part (seat rest) I used thin cardboard. Shouldn't weight more than 5 lbs..I'll check tho just for the heck of it.

Did you ever get this dyno'd?

Just wondering because i'm getting interested in the M54 for my E30.
I was going to do either an M52 or S52. But I'm seeing M54s for sale for less than an S52 with less miles and obviously newer. From dynos i've seen the S52 definitely makes more power both stock and with mods but not actually much more at all. And the M54 makes a lot more power below 4k rpms too. And the M54 weighs about 65 lbs less than the S52... thats a lot of weight on the front end, especially in an e30. And it's about 100 lbs less than the S54!

This is really cool that your modding an M54 for more power, not many people are even trying that to this extent.
