Oh few more updates:

VERY VERY lightly spray painted the bottom seat rest in flat black. It matches PERFECTLY with the oem BMW carpet now.

Second I decided to make the trunk a little more appealing. It's mostly gutted so here's how it looked before.

So, I took the OEM gray trunk carpet and dyed it black to give it a more complete look. This was the result:

The only car that I enjoy being sideways with is an e9x m3...maybe the diff is better, maybe because the power, maybe because the weight makes it easier to whip around..I don't know.

Anyways I'm very happy with it. The only this is I wish I had more power now lol.
This your favorite mod yet? No doubt you're lovin it...the OS Giken performance sounds like it would be pretty amazing! How's the engagement/disengagement? Seamless?

Sorry for the late response, haven't been on here in a while. It's hard to say since all the mods I've done have really improved the car beyond what I ever expected. But so far the cams and LSD have really been my favorite.

You wouldn't even know the diff was modified until you need that extra traction. I'm glad I spent the extra money for it.

A couple awesome updates I'm really excited about:

I'm ordering a CF sunroof delete panel from S2R Tuning today. The guys on m3forum say the fit and finish is spot on. It also includes factory mounting holes for an easy and oem-like finish.

Here's the link
http://www.s2rtuning.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1841

I'm excited for another ~50lbs weight loss. The car will now be over 400lbs lighter than stock while retaining a factory look with the headliner.

I'm actually in my garage prepping the car for a Dyno tune for the cams at Lutz Performance in a few weeks. Changing Spark Plugs, Fuel Filter, new intake boots, cleaning out the Throttle Body and MAF. Can't wait.

Here's a few picture of what it looks like on "Damian" Imola Red ///M. As you can see the fit and finish is beautiful.

Here's another car with the same panel from S2R, but in a fiberglass finish to match the paint of the car from the outside. Notice the factory mounting points from inside the cabin.

Thanks man, I'm pretty excited. The weight loss is the best thing about this car. It's amazing how much 400lbs transforms it. How's your car doing? Haven't spoke to you in a while. Still planning to boost it?

Good to hear, I'm glad I can provide as much info on doing the "right" modifications while still keeping it in relatively stock form.

Mine is too lol. I'm getting this as an early Christmas present since cyber Monday is coming up.

Which sunroof delete did you have? I know Chad (eBay) on m3forum was the first to make them. His 1st prototype had fitment/quality issues. The 2nd one was apparently spot on.

Unfortunately sad news tho, he passed away last week in a helicopter accident.

I've been thinking of going this route eventually: http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E46-330...Panel/ES71198/
But would have to get it painted, installed and a new headliner. Much cheaper than a CF CSL roof or even a rep of course but not quite as light obviously...

I definitely like the option you're going with...certainly a bit easier on the wallet and the fit and finish is solid...

yeah 400 pounds must be very nice and weight loss is something i need to start doing to my car. i have been slammed at work lately which is a great excuse to not work on my car since $$ isn't being spent on car parts. i am sort of trying to get a daily driver maybe a 525 or 528 as a daily to prepare for a boosted e46. trying to get a tt turbo kit which is more $$

latest mods or mod i have done is the setrab vdp oil cooler and ard pulleys, picked up some dpe r16's that i had built and that's pretty much it for now..

i really want to do clutch but its hard since there is limited options for the 6spd non-m.. i would love to start my weight loss with that sunroof delete

I was originally thinking something along the lines of that too, but it's the damn install that sucks. There are 84 tack welds along the perimeter of the roof and I think you'd need to weld in a roof bow.

Next option is to just get the fiberglass version and paint it. IMO you'll still see the lines tho so I would just go with CF since it looks like a normal tinted sunroof

Well that's good man, keep up the work since that's the most important thing. Mods should always be second. As for the DD' a 525i is a solid car, who cares if it's slow. It also gets good gas milage. Maybe try and get a clean e34 if you can, those are bulletproof.

Good choice on the turbo. In my opinion that and the Twinscrew are the only options I'd consider for this motor. As for the clutch get the one I have. It's a clutchmasters stage 1/JB flywheel. IMO the best kit out there.

Hmm it didn't know that I had a thread about it? Was it about the connectors?
